Protected Area of Zanjan
The presence of the Qezel Ozan and Angouran rivers, along with the topographical conditions of Zanjan province, has led to the formation of diverse animal and plant habitats, resulting in several protected and hunting-restricted areas in Zanjan.
The Sorkhabad Protected Area, features semi-arid and Mediterranean climates, serving as a habitat for various plant species, wild animals, reptiles, birds, and fish. The Sohrin plain within this region is an exceptional habitat for deer.
The Angouran Protected Area, is a mountainous and hilly region characterized by Mediterranean and semi-humid climates. Its unique vegetation includes a variety of plants such as tulips, poppies, sorrow flowers, almond trees, barberry, walnuts, and wild olives. This area provides a suitable habitat for wild sheep, Armenian sheep, pashtun goats, various wildlife species, birds, reptiles, and fish.
The Fil-e-Khaseh Hunting Prohibition Area, features exceptional vegetation and is home to various Iranian wildlife species, domestic birds, predatory birds, and various reptiles.
The Kharmanesar Hunting Prohibition Area is situated in on the southern slopes of the Alborz mountain range in Tarom County. It boasts unique plant species and captivating wildlife.
Lastly the Khorasanlu Hunting Prohibition Area is a mountainous region in Zanjan that receives high levels of rainfall.
